Our Vision
To make disciples of Jesus Christ, to the glory of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
To do this we endeavour to follow the teachings of Jesus as laid down in Scripture, believing the Bible to be the inspired word of God our Father.
History
It was back in the late 1700’s when a man was walking on an old sheep trail from London through Longhope to Wales. He came through Little London and saw a lot of children. He felt that he should come and tell them about God. He set up in a house in Little London near the brook where you can still see the little steps where people came and were baptised. The number of people who wanted to find out more about God grew, so a larger building was needed. Someone from Zion gave the church some land and miraculously all the money needed to build the church was raised quickly. In the 1896 Baptist Handbook it states that in 1846 there was seating for 220. There were 10 Sunday school teachers, 140 scholars and 2 local preachers. The main members were just 35. The minister was also the head teacher of the school which was also at Zion at that time.
